April Favorites

I have come to the realization that I really dislike doing Monthly Favorites.

I mean, I enjoy having a Monthly Favorites post as a finished product on my blog, but I really dislike the process of putting it together. Some months I just have the same products as before and don’t really have anything to show, but y’know.

1. Purity Ring

I have found a new addition to my essentials jewelry collection! I have been searching for the perfect ring to serve as a representation of my sexual purity for a while now, and I’ve finally found a winner! It’s nothing special, nothing expensive, but perfect for me. The ring is just thin enough to be a minimal accessory and just enough of a statement for me not to lose it. I’m not a very sparkly, flashy person, so this had the perfect balance of interest and subtlety. Who knew I would find something so cool at Dollywood though?

2. Marble Necklace

(Sorry for the crap-o picture.)

So it turns out that Dollywood has this freaking sick blown glass shop full of glass animals, vases, and a ton of jewelry, almost all made on site at the park. I picked up this periwinkle/baby blue marble necklace and absolutely fell in love. The marble looks really nice sitting right in the center of a deep v-neck tee, and dresses up any outfit. My only problem is that I have to stop myself from wearing it sometimes for fear of it breaking. It seems really fragile.

3. L’Oreal Lipstick Combo

Ok. So if you know me well, you’ll know that my number one drugstore lipstick brand is Maybelline. However, L’Oreal is threatening to take the top spot with this combo I made up.

I bought these lipsticks earlier in the year without properly swatching them and it turns out the two did not work for me in the slightest. “I Pink You’re Cute” is a wonderful pink on the stick, but on me–very, very, pink. “Fairest Nude” made me look somewhat dead. They were two complete opposite extremes, so why not put them together?

The result is the perfect springy pink that I’ve been wearing almost every day in April.

Tadaa! Remember if a lip color doesn’t work for you, try mixing it with other colors to adapt to your skin tone.

(yes, my hair is shorter. Again.)

4. Phoenix “Bankrupt!”

Phoenix_-_Bankrupt!_cover

This album has literally been on repeat for the past month and a half. I actually bought the CD last year, but I lost it for the longest time and only just recovered it. I’m so happy to have rediscovered the band Phoenix (yes Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix). I’m always singing songs from this album when I’m driving. It’s just the perfect late night drive album.

5. The Pastel Trend

Okay, okay, I know. This is lame of me, right? But I just can’t help it. I’m in love with the haziness of the pastel grunge trend. Love it in photos, on lips, in fashion, and especially in hair. Can’t get enough of this look!

PASTELLVE

I have to try this at least once in my life.

That’s all my favorites for April! Follow the Facebook page to get updates on posts. Follow my Twitter and Tumblr @ProjectMaganda for additional updates, and @ErinKaelie on Instagram, Poshmark, Luvocracy, and The Hunt to see what I’m loving and selling on a daily basis.

Thanks for reading! Always appreciate your support. Sorry about the lack of activity, but it’s Exam time and I have to get cracking! I’ll be back full blast in the summer, promise.

Much love,

Erin
