May Favorites

041

So many favorites this time around! With the beginning of summer and all, I have had the opportunity to buy and try a lot of new products and I’m really excited to show you all what I’ve been loving in the month of May. Let’s get started!

1. Neutrogena Shine Control Primer

042

I never understood how beauty gurus stayed matte in the summer time. Sure, I’m down for a dewey look every once in a while, but I’d rather be in control of it. I have been wanting a face primer for a while, so I picked this up at a local Walgreens to combat the face melting epidemic that is more commonly referred to as summer. This primer not only does a great job of keeping my makeup on and under control, but feels like nothing on my skin.

2. Rimmel London Bronzer

043

I don’t like to tan. I think pallor is really beautiful, and the whole “sun-kissed” look thing has never appealed to me. Bronzer kind of used to be a no-go product for me, because I thought it was just another product to make a person look tanner (and Lord knows I don’t need any assistance in that department). But upon further research, I’ve found that bronzer is really more about contouring than darkening. I gave it a shot with this Rimmel London Sun Shimmer Maxi Bronzer. This has been doing wonders to bring out my cheekbones and I never pass it up in my morning routine.

3. Minimergency Kit For Her

044

This is my second Minimergency Kit. My first was an adorable patent pink, and I used quite a bit of its contents when I found myself in a jam. I recently visited Urban Outfitters and came across this beauty, in this Alligator texture with an Oil Spill colo, which I have always been in love with. I had to pick it up! These little pouches are made by Pinch Industries and contain 17 tools for when you’re in a major pickle on the go. Everybody needs one of these.

4. 1984

046

I have had absolutely no time to read. I’m not even done with this book. But from what I’ve read, this is not a novel to be passed up. If you’ve taken AP European History, this book is a must-read. You’ll be startled at what you find.

047

Oh, and just showing off my bookmark with Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio on it. Love these kids.

5. Billabong Snapback

049

Okay, I freaking love this hat. I was in Pensacola, FL last week surfing and found this at Innerlight Surf Shop. I love the understated Hawaiian print, and it was just classy enough to catch my eye. It’s already filthy because I’ve worn it almost every day since then.

6. CD Storage Box

050

I found this box at Target a couple of months ago, and found that it is perfect for storing my CDs in my car. I can just keep the box on the front passenger seat and transport these babies wherever I want to go!

Well, not anymore. My car is dead. If you’re interested in fixing it up or buying it for parts, let me know. Broken timing belt. Interference engine. Life over.

7. UO Vinlyl

052

You can always count on Urban Outfitters to have everything I could possibly ever wish for. James Blake and Rhye are two of my favorite artists, and these albums are platinum in my heart. Finding them in Urban Outfitters all there, in the flesh, vinyl, was too much. I had to have them.

It was difficult choosing these though, since I love so much of the music UO offers on vinyl. I’m currently working to compile more and more of these 180 gram packages of love.

So great.

That’s all for May! I felt like I had more, but I forgot. Anyway, I have a new development! I’m going to start a thing called “What You Should Listen To While Reading This”, or “WYSLTWRT”, or “Whistletwert”. Basically I’ll give you a song, band, album, or playlist to listen to as you read or go about your day. It’s like a mini Music Spotlight with every post.

So this post’s Whistletwert is obviously James Blake and Rhye, so go listen to them right now! Let me know what you think of my Whistletwert. #whistletwert for life.

You can apply to attend TEDxYouth @Franklin here, if you would like to see my speech live. The date is July 19th and the cost is $28, but it’ll sell out quickly so apply ASAP!

You can follow me on Facebook as well as my Twitter and Tumblr @ProjectMaganda for blog updates. My Instagram, Pinterest, Poshmark, Luvocracy, The Hunt, Markkit–you name it–can be found with the ID @erinkaelie.

Thanks for reading and for all of your support; I really appreciate every view and every comment.

Much love,

Erin
