My Magic Mystery Pants
WYSLTWRT: The 1975 “Settle Down (Young Ruffian Remix)”
Proud of me? In the middle of music camp, and I’m still blogging. Overlooking the small detail that I haven’t finished my summer reading.
For those who wish to know, JAM camp is awesome, and I’m about a fourth of the way through it. It’s incredibly fun, but relentlessly intense, so it’s nice to be able to retreat to the blog for a bit.
Fun Fact: These pants are magic. They are the most freaking comfortable things I have ever had encase my butt (can I say that? Whatever. I’m saying it.) They hide EVERYTHING and are high waisted, so full-on win there.
When you’re dealing with paisley prints like that of my magic mystery pants, you can go one of two things: country girl it up with light denim (or really just denim in general) or battle it with a contrasting accessory. Obviously, I chose the latter.
Since the shirt is a little short and is slit up the back anyway, I just left it untucked with a black bandeau and called it fashionable to have your shirt basically be an apron.
The pants are literally so long that I am forced to wear heels with them. I’ll try platforms some time soon, but I’m feeling the extra height in the heel with these babies.
Oh, did I mention that they kinda look like retired clown pants? Because they do, and it’s awesome.
Okay, makeup: Nothing really but BB cream on my face (because it’s really hot, that’s all I wear in the summer) and HUGE black eyeliner. As in, pretending that I’m Claire Marshall huge. Bright pink and nude lipstick mixed together. Das’ it.
All for today, possibly all for a little while. Possibly Saturday morning of Sunday afternoon I will be able to shoot some more looks for you guys, but expect some music spotlights and such for the time being.
If you’ve noticed, I’ve revamped the site a bit! Now you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Lookbook, and Bloglovin’ all from here–just check out the side bars.
If you want to see me speak at TEDxYouth @Franklin this September at the Factory in Franklin, you can apply here.
Thanks for your patience and support as always. I’ll link you guys to my JAM performances when they’re on the Tube.
Much love,
Erin
