It’s THAT Time of Year…Again
And we’re back! The post #ProjectREAL hiatus has gone on long enough, and I’m more than ready to get back into the swing of things. And, since today marks the anniversary of last year’s Thanksgiving post (see “So It’s THAT Time of Year”) and PM’s 3rd time around, I figured now would be a good time to pop in and give my two cents on holiday outfits.
WYSLTWRT: Lianne LaHavas NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert (Wow, remember these? Click to play in the background while you read.)
This outfit is dedicated to food babies and sleepy winter evenings. The balloon pants and XL turtleneck not only keep me cozy in the fall, but can actually discreetly hide 4 tiny baguettes from your family! Paired with the space in my Steve Madden tote, I can spring from my mom’s kitchen with over 10 bread rolls, hot and ready to hoard.
I like how you think I’m joking. I really love bread.
For makeup, rather than doing my usual eyeliner, I layered eyeshadows from the Lorac PRO 1 pallete to create a softer line. I think it allows for the entire look to soften up without losing the precision that I prefer. Other than that, I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. For my hair, I offered a tiny ode to Gigi Hadid’s look at the AMA’s by pinning back the undersides and tucking the outer bits behind my ears, keeping everything back with hairspray. It’s getting too long for my liking, so I’m having to mask the growing layers until I can go get it cut again.
I know. Again. I don’t think I can ever go back to long hair.
Bread roll theft aside, this outfit is unbelievably comfortable. The intrigue of the old trousers allows for me to be minimal with my jewelry, just how I like it. No fumbling with metal, just giant pants pockets. Since the hem of these pants is nothing short of glorious awkward, I rolled them up to showcase the shoes.
So, whether you’re staying or going for Thanksgiving, you can rest knowing that not only are you ready for a comfy night with the family, but you can bolt hiding an entire pie in your purse if the need arises.
Lookbook time!
Be sure to follow Project Maganda on Facebook for automated blog updates, as well as Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. @ProjectMaganda to see what I’m up to. It’s not all that exciting, but hey. I occasionally retweet memes, so you can look forward to that.
I made an announcement yesterday about how I was going to start posting again, and was pleasantly surprised at the DMs and texts I got from people saying they were excited to see me back. Thanks for sticking it out with me–you guys make this worth it.
Much love,
Erin
